Jerrie Cobb Inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame Geraldyn "Jerrie" Cobb, record-setting pilot who learned to fly at age 12, will be inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame on October 6, 2012. She was the first and only woman to pass all of the Mercury astronaut selection tests. In 1981 she was a Nobel Prize nominee for her pioneering humanitarian work in the Amazon jungle.
Mercury 13 Ladies Honored On May 12th , 2007, Mercury 13 girls Jerrie Cobb, Jerri Truhill, "B" Steadman, Rhea Woltman, Sarah Ratley, GeneNora Jesson, Irene Leverton and "K" Cagle were honored with honorary Doctor of Science degrees from the University of Wisonsin, Oshkosh.
